This year I was the Sales Manager for Rewind 96.1.
I picked Sales as one of my two majors as I wanted a challenge to work on during our time of craft and a challenge it was. Most of my job as Sales manager was just to try and keep everyone's spirits high as we face push back from many Christchurch businesses who had exhausted their budget before the 2022/2023 financial year had even begun.
We changed our sales approach and did a few sponsorship drives for the Breast Cancer Foundation and Cancer Society which helped us make our pre-broadcast budget. While not many businesses could spend a lot of money we did have a lot of companies offer prizes to giveaway that was of equal value to the campaign they wanted to run.
I enjoyed the sales major although I liked the marketing and promotion side of it a lot more.
