Are you expecting and have no clue what to expect or what to do? Here are 5 tips to help you through your pregnancy.

Tip One

Regularly exercise. Although getting off the couch while pregnant might not sound too appealing, it's super important you exercise as part of your daily routine. Regular exercise can improve your posture and can also decrease some of pregnancy’s common discomfits such as backaches. Walking is a great place to start!

Tip Two

Sleep is vital. This may sound like a no-brainer, but sleep is super important for you and your baby. Not only can limited sleep affect yourself and your baby, but it can also impact your delivery process. As your baby bump starts to grow you may experience challenges such as struggling to fall asleep and extra pain or discomfit. The best sleep position recommended while pregnant is on your left side with each leg slightly curled.

Tip Three

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Pregnancy may be very unfamiliar to you, and lots are things can begin to change fast. If you need help be sure to reach out for the love and support from friends and families. Even if you just need some company one day, just ask for some simple tasks completed, they will be more than happy to help.

Tip Four

Eat a well-balanced diet. Although cravings for fast food and chocolate may start to kick in, remember to keep a well-balanced diet. That doesn’t mean don’t get McDonald's fries that you are craving but balance it out with your 5+ a day of fruit and vegetables. Be sure to eat folate, calcium, and fibre-rich foods and avoid soft cheeses.

Tip Five

Relax. Along with exercise, make sure you take time out of your day to relax. This may include partaking in relaxation techniques such as yoga, stretching, deep breathing, or a massage.
